X-MEN: APOCALYPSE (2016) Dir: Bryan Singer ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The X-Men franchise gets seriously cairo-ed away on day 14 of the countdown to Captain America Brave New World with new big bad Egyptian villain Apocalypse (Poe Dameron) - and once again the disparate elements of mutantkind must band together to stop (or join?) this new force of evil. The year is 1983. Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Hank McCoy (Nicholas Hoult) are busy teaching the next generation including super-powerful telepath Jean Grey (Sansa Stark - no relation to Tony) and ol' laser eyes Scott Summers (Tye Sheridan). Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) is scouring the world for less fortunate mutants, where she meets young Nightcrawler (our very own Aussie Kodi Smit-Mcphee) who has been forced into life as a cage fighting competitor. Magneto (Michael Fassbender) is in hiding, working in a Polish steel factory and raising a daughter named Nina (I assume she can't be Wanda for legal reasons). The Polish actually pronounce it as Mag-NET-o! Or more like Mag-NYET-o - but still I was happy to see my childhood (mis)pronunciation finally receive on-screen representation. Pox-eclipse has some recruits of his own including a bad-ass 1980's mo-hawked Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and psy-bladed uber-hottie Psylocke (played by Attack of the Show 'Hostess with the Mostess' Olivia Munn). Psylocke was my first ever comic book crush - specifically because of the scene in X-Men
