[FM IWAYA’s Visit to Munich, Germany]-🇯🇵FM IWAYA’s Message-I am visiting Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference. Firstly, I attended the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the margins of the Conference.In the midst of the turbulent international situation, it was significant that the G7 foreign ministers were able to align their views and confirm unity, building on shared values and principles.On the situation in Ukraine, we confirmed that the G7 would closely cooperate with Ukraine to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.Regarding the situation in the Middle East, we welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and affirmed our determination to play an active role not only in providing urgent humanitarian assistance but also in supporting mid- to long-term recovery and reconstruction.We also discussed Indo-Pacific and shared serious concerns over the situation in the East and South China Seas, as well as North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile issues.Also, I asked anew for understanding and cooperation from the other G7 countries for the immediate resolution of the abductions issue and gained their support.Taking this opportunity, I held a Japan-U.S.-Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with Secretary Marco Rubio and Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul.I attended a panel discussion organized at the Munich Security Conference and highlighted the importance of the coordination among allies and like-minded countries, under the recognition that the security of Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific are inseparable.#Germany #G7 #MSC2025 | Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan
